Thanks to all the sweet people that gave me advice!! You know who you are!

This is what I've settled for. I'm satisfied enough with it. :)

Of course this is an interpretation of a minimalistic style as first (and much better) done by *IleanaHunter. 't Was a nice experiment, but more difficult than I had imagined. It can be quite hard to decide what to leave out! ;)

Materials:
- Winsor and Newton Extra Smooth Bristol Board, A4 size wide
- Tom Bow and Staedtler Mars pencils 2H through 6B
- Mechanical pencils H and B, 0.5 and 0.3 mm
- Blu-tack, Tom Bow Mono Zero eraser, Mars regular eraser
- Homemade tortillions and cotton make-up removal pads for blending.

WIP:

Thanks for looking!

Looks much better with the hair going down a bit more.
Great eyes and cool idea with the pencil :D
I can't imagine how i would try and do a self portrait so very well done

Thanks Rick!
Actually a self portrait wasn't quite as hard ad I'd imagined. Maybe the style shift also helped, but it was actually rather fun! It's good to sometimes stare oneself in the face for a long time without feeling the need to judge, if you know what I mean.

it turned out fantastic, Nathalie!:heart: it was great earlier too, but adding some more hair was really a good decision, and I just love the way you did it, preserving the minimalist style

Thank you Eszter! I'm happy with that decision too, it just looks more finished like this.

I love it! It's so realistic even without a lot of shading :) The lips and eyes are the best :)

Thank you! Glad you like the eyes and mouth best, since those should be the focus!
